Amokura earring

The amokura earring was made for both wahine & tāne to wear.
Wahine wearing both & tāne wearing the feather side.

Back in the days many leaders wore a feather in one of their ears to show rank within their iwi, with the x pattern resonating with female mahi tukutuku.
